C.S. Lewis
Daniel Libeskind
Amen to that! I am absolutely inspired by this quote. Because to me these words hold true and resonate deep within my personal views and beliefs in architecture. It’s the very reason why I do what I do. Architecture is a lot of things. But at the root of it all, it is just that >To create a space that has never been. There are a wide range of definitions and schools of thought pertaining to the complex question: what is architecture? And I have always struggled, putting into words, what architecture means to me, but… after hearing this… I think its clear. I now know what to say. Thank you Mr. Libeskind for your insight! And that ‘wonder’ that he speaks about, is the same wonder that has allowed us to explore outer space. It is the same wonder which allows us to question everything with an inquiring mind and explore those ideas regardless of the outcome. That same wonder can potentially lessen the distance between the ideal and the real. (just a thought.) -r
